Controversial Vandana Shiva and Others Discuss GMOs
The Omega Institute’s sustainability conferences bring together presenters and participants in conversation around the following question:
What sort of future do we want? Do we want to create a future where seeds and agriculture are controlled by a few multinational companies, access to clean water and good food is only available to some and public policy is dominated by corporate influence?
This year’s conference, called Seeds of Change: Cultivating the Commons, continued the discussion, taking place October 9-11, and is view-able online here for a month after the conference ends. The conference included the oft-controversial Vandana Shiva, a world-renowned environmental leader, eco-feminist, author, and thinker. Director of the Research Foundation on Science, Technology, and Ecology, she is also a leader in the International Forum on Globalization.
